What the numbers tell us

Enable JavaScript to calculate with your own values.

Why it works

litres = [2(length + width) × height − openings] × coats / coverage

Assumptions and limits

Walls only: ceiling excluded. Flat rectangular walls, full coats and stated coverage. Texture, spills and product instructions can increase the quantity. Round up when choosing actual tins.

Try a small challenge

Net wall area 30 m², two coats, coverage 10 m²/L. Paint?
A little hint

Multiply area by coats, then divide by coverage.
